There’s something a text message can’t do: sit on someone’s kitchen counter for a week. The Heart Series is a set of ten postcards – each one simple, a hand-drawn heart (or a small handful of them), a short line, and a blank back for your own words. Send one and it’s a note. Send all ten, one at a time, over ten weeks, and it starts to feel like something closer to a slow, deliberate way of telling someone you’re thinking of them.
A few of the lines, so you know what you’re working with:
“It is only with the heart that one sees what is invisible to the eye.”
“Pursue what catches your heart – not what catches your eyes.”
“You are not rich unless you have a rich heart.”
“Nothing disturbs a smiling heart.”
Each card is 4″ x 6″, blank on the back for your own note and address. Sold as a set of 10 ($10) or five sets ($40) – because once you start sending them, you’ll probably want to send them again.
Why I designed the Heart Cards
each with a personal quote
I designed the Heart Cards because I love the heart as a
symbol . . . it is a universal symbol, a symbol for love as well as
for all the reasons I state on each Heart Card
It is only with the heart that one can see what is invisible to the eye
Pursue what catches your heart—not what catches your eyes
Know your heart before you speak
The heart has reasons that reason knows
You are not rich unless you have a rich heart
Create with your heart not with your mind
Start each day with a positive heart and grateful heart
Love what you do and with your heart give yourself to it
Nothing disturbs a smiling heart
You cannot live without a heart
But the Heart has other attributes:
Your heart can break
Your heart can have palpitations or irregular beats
Your heart breaks when you lose someone very close to you
You have/say you have a “pain in your heart”
You place your hand over your heart for emphasis
You can have a “heart attack”—what is “attacking” the heart . . . your heart?
Are you “attacking” yourself—why, why would you do that?
Your heart rate increases with exercise or shock
